Based on our conversations about your vision, our depth of experience, and early schematics from your architect or designer, we’ll give you an estimated cost-per-square-foot range. As the drawings become more accurate, so does the estimate.
For every project, there is a realistic cost from the get-go. Sometimes, contractors provide low-end estimates just to get a job, and then the client ends up with “surprise costs” down the road. Clients should not be looking for the best price, but instead should be asking, “What are my needs, and which contractor is best equipped to meet them?”
We, as the contractor, send out bid requests to multiple trades in each division during the estimate process. This ensures that we are staying competitive, and it allows us to select the right partners to work on each client’s home, based on the style and materials we are using.
We are intentionally not design-build. Instead, we assemble a highly educated team of industry experts—architect, landscape architect, and interior designer—for each project. We have worked with our partners for years and have personally selected them for their inspired design and meticulous craftsmanship. At the same time, if you already have your own architect or designer, we are equally happy to integrate into that team and bring our expertise to the build process. Our collaborative approach allows each expert to use their gifts and exercise what they do best: create, problem solve, and value-engineer in a way that is in the best interest of our clients. Jot down the vision of your family’s desires and how you would like to use your new home. Collect notes, photos, and examples of looks that inspire and thrill you. Your ideas will help your architect clarify your tastes and define your own distinctive style.
Your dream starts to take form! We can help refine your vision, using a rough estimate based on square footage and similar prior projects as a starting point. We can also ensure that you have the right team for your project by referring you to an architect who is compatible with your style and has the experience to accurately interpret your needs. (Or, we can seamlessly join your project already in progress.)
This is where the magic happens, as your team gathers to collaborate, bringing together your vision and plotting the creative plan to paper for the first time.
